The Division of Water Pollution Control develops and implements programs to prevent or clean up the pollutiuon of survac eand ground water in Massachusetts. In accordance with Federal Water Pollution Control Act (PL 92-580, s 402(b), as amended) the division's biology section reviews toxicity testing information contained in discharge monitoring reports submitted by permitted dischargers under the provisions of 314 CMR 3/10(9), to ensure compliance in testing methods and results. Discharge monitoring report forms describe the volume and characteristics of effluent discharged by permit holder on a daily basis.
